Chicago Universities

There are many public and private universities in Chicago. All offer students a wide range of course and degree options. The University of Illinois-Chicago is the biggest university in the state. Its medical school is the biggest in the country. Another academic highlight is the University of Chicago. There have been over 70 Nobel Prize winners associated with the university. It has a rich history since its creation by John D. Rockefeller and Marshall Field. Chicago's DePaul University is the nation's biggest Catholic university and the largest private educational provider in the city. DePaul incorporates 8 campuses throughout the city. Northwestern University's campuses span 11 locations in the city. The University is known to have excellent liberal arts programs. Loyola University is a Jesuit university and has 4 campuses throughout the city. Loyola also includes a campus in Rome.

Many of Chicago's universities have a range of educational options for students. In addition to full time classes, many provide night classes, weekend courses, and adult education. The neighborhoods surrounding the universities offer reasonably priced living options for students. There are many bars and restaurants in the area as well. Public transportation runs by most of the campuses. If the excellent educational institutions weren't a big enough draw for students, the city itself only adds to the allure. With a relatively young population as well as more than enough shopping, bars, restaurants, and entertainment destinations, students don't have to look very far to find something to do.

No matter what your educational needs are, Chicago universities might be the answer for you. The city is very accommodating to students. So whether you're looking to go away to school for the first time or you're thinking about going back to school, one of Chicago's universities might be the key to your future.
